Staff Member Q&A with Riki Markowitz
Just about everyone at Createscape knows Riki. Besides being a part of our coworking community since nearly the beginning, she also has two cute little chihuahuas who come to work with her and is Createscape’s Content Manager who writes and edits so much of the newsletter and blog content you see. This time, we’re flipping the script and doing a Q&A with her to get to know the person behind the articles.
Createscape Wildlife Identification Guide
Members love that Createscape is conveniently close to the airport and downtown. But they also appreciate being surrounded by lots of grass, trees, and plenty of room to roam. In fact, we're in a residential section of East Austin that the Chronicle once called an "inner city paradise." Thanks to the abundance of green space, neighborhood gardens, parks, tree farms and plant nurseries in the area, we get a lot of wildlife visitors. Here are some of the creatures you're likely to spot on a typical day at the office.
Happy 8th Birthday To Us
June marks eight years since Createscape first opened our doors. Happy birthday to us! A lot has changed since the summer of 2014. “Fancy” by Iggy Azalea was the number one song, Maleficent, starring Angelina Jolie had just premiered on the big screen, and soccer champions – Germany and Argentina – were battling it out for the FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
Your Look at Austin's E.A.S.T. 2019 at Tillery
For the sixth year, Createscape will be a host site for EAST Austin Studio Tour November 16-17 and November 23-24 and we’re gearing up with a lot of great artists who will be putting together exhibitions at the space. The Study Hall, the Studio Space, and the main building hallways along with other neighbor suites at the building will all be transformed into artist galleries for two weekends this month.
