"My kind of people"

This edition of The Weekly is an introduction to me, Chris. Hey! Hi! Alright?

I joined Createscape as a member in 2019 when my company’s Austin office closed. I was a member throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, with the few of us sitting here in opposite corners of the rooms. Since then, I’ve watched its growth into the thriving community it is now.

When a staff position became available a few years ago, I took the opportunity to help add my skills to the team. Nowadays, I’m behind emails like this one, member communications, and events, among other things. I’m a bit of a factotum.

While writing this, I’ve been thinking about what I like about Createscape, and I think it comes down to Createscape members being “my kind of people.” This doesn’t mean always having the same beliefs or interests; it means people I feel comfortable with, people I can have a good chat with, and people I feel in community with.

So come have a chat with me; next week’s Open House on June 25 is a great time for that. Bonus points if you’re up for talking about Love Island, my favorite things about London, or how England is doing at the World Cup.
